"What kind of father are you?" the LOP-Side #0007
As we adjust to Loving Our Kids On Purpose, we learn not to be pulled into the emotional bath of an eight year old. Our children learn how to carry their responsibility in the relationship. Sometimes transition can be difficult as we make changes to manage our half of the relationship; however, it will empower our children to manage their half. Anticipate some resistance from children as they process this change in expectations. Take opportunities to show them what self-control looks like in the face of difficult situations. Parents share that when they stay the course, it gets easier. So hang in there, be powerful and self controlled, and you will make it!
