Our 10-year-old-with-a-brain comes to a startling realization: His brain works and he can solve his own problems. Now we see the patience of a self-controlled parent pay off.Step 1: We really want the ownership of the solution to be with the owner of the problem.
Step 2: Then, presenting a self-controlled adult to our child, we ask the right questions to lead the child to engaging their brain.
Step 3: We walk through the process with them, never taking over and always believing that they can do it.
The result is incredible, a 10 year old with power to solve their own problems.
Next week we start a new story... stay tuned.
