Here is a testimony from our friend, a Loving On Purpose Champion from the Midwest.

Hello April (Loving On Purpose Champion Director) and Danny Silk,

I’m a Loving on Purpose Champion who has previously conversed with Danny Silk via email for permission to bring Loving our Kids on Purpose to the Midwest. I have also sent you testimonies in the past that were posted on your blog. I have been sharing the Loving our Kids on Purpose DVDs here in the Minneapolis area as a 8-week class in a parent coaching setting along with a 40-Day Challenge that I’ve developed to complement Loving our Kids on Purpose.

This past Spring 2010, I hosted three Loving our Kids on Purpose 40-Day Challenges:
·      One in the community
·      One in an in-home Bible Study Group
·      One at the Healing House of Metro Hope Ministries – a faith-based program for Moms and their kids coming out of poverty, abuse, and addiction.
Honestly, I wasn’t sure how Loving our Kids on Purpose would be received by the women at the Healing House.  I’m pleased to say that the Loving on Purpose 40-Day Challenge was a huge help to all who attended.  It ended up being one of their favorite weekly classes.  Because of the positive response, the Healing House wants to continually offer the 40-Day Challenge of Loving our Kids on Purpose for every new group of residents that come through because lives are being changed – moms and kids alike!

Below are some of the Loving on Purpose Testimonies I want to pass on along to you and those at Loving on Purpose:

Through the 40-Day Challenge of Loving our Kids on Purpose I came to realize that I parented as the big yellow truck most of the time. I didn’t realize how fearful I was and how I was reacting when my kids came to me with something I didn’t want to hear which made them share less and less each time. I never even thought about working on our heart to heart connections with my kids before. I also learned how to disconnect my “big red buttons” and that I shouldn’t label my kids anymore.

Now I approach my kids differently, more as their “guide” not their “controller”.  There’s less arguing because I don’t react like I used to.  I’m getting to know my kids as people and getting to know their hearts.  I’m also empowering them to take action in their lives and their friendships!  Asking them, “What are you going to do?” is so effective in giving them the opportunity to think about a solution vs. me jumping in and fixing everything.  We have so much more peace in our home.

This has been such a paradigm shift for us! We were controlling parents wanting our children to comply and fit into our rules. We spent most of our time being the police of their behaviors. I now see the need to spend time nurturing our heart to heart relationships and let them know that their feelings and ideas are valued.  We have not treated them as the smart children that they really are! I have done too much of the thinking and fixing for them.

After Loving our Kids on Purpose, I feel like I have a plan now and need to review it often and put it in place. Just this weekend, I used “Hassle Time” with my 12-year old when she was giving me attitude and talking back.  She even came up to me and asked what she needed to do for her “Hassle Time” before I even mentioned it! She did it while a friend was over playing with her and her twin sister!

I feel so much more calm as a parent. Loving on Purpose gave me the tools I needed! Thank you!

Through Loving our Kids on Purpose I have learned that I can’t control my kids.  It’s a myth and is ineffective. Now I’m trying to let them solve problems more with my help if they ask. I’ve stopped taking charge and telling them what to do.  I don’t feel the need to speak so quickly anymore and have learned to give their problems back to them.

On no! Maybe so. Nice try. How that’s working for you? Fun or room and giving choices really works!! Loving on Purpose is so practical and powerful!  Every parent needs to know this and do it!

Loving our Kids on Purpose taught me the importance and effectiveness of listening, speaking less, and asking more questions. I’ve learned how to give my kids logical consequences and let them be responsible for themselves and their own things. It’s amazing, we’re treating each other with greater respect and now my kids are doing chores and following through on their own! It beautiful!!

The other day I had my daughter pay me $ because I had to make her bed for her.  At first she was upset, but now she makes her bed everyday without my asking!

Loving on Purpose should be a parenting “must” for all preschool kids and above!! Everything we learned has been so helpful to us and our kids.  My son got himself into a not so great situation with his cousin.  In the old days I would have yelled at him and punished him for his actions.  This time I asked him questions and he, all on his own, went to his cousin and cleaned up his own mess.  A great life long lesson learned!

Loving on Purpose really opened my eyes to see that God has a plan for parenting. And it is way different then the way I was raised, and what I have seen around me so far. Loving on Purpose has changed the way I view my relationship with my son. I realize now that I cannot control him, but I can offer him choices, which will teach him how to manage his freedom.

Loving on Purpose has given us great parenting tools, but most importantly it’s helped my wife and I to be unified in our parenting and given me a better picture of how God loves us and teaches us.

One story is about killing the fear of man in his life and the other is about killing a rattlesnake that threatened the safety of a family. The Process of Love Released

Much of what we experience today is actually an inheritance from the faithful and sacrificial saints of past generations. We must identify and pass on the process of love that allows us to keep what we've inherited. The process of love is a wake-up call for both young and old. Those faithful servants of the past must learn to be part of a royal family, and the new generation of princes and princesses must learn what it takes to protect their great wealth. This message will take us on the journey that leads to the place of becoming lovers, which is our highest call as the Bride of Christ.

Revival is ALIVE in the UK!!!

On return from their 2nd trip to England in 2009, Danny and Sheri would like to report that revival is ALIVE in the UK!!! Danny started off by meeting with 150 leaders from France and England, teaching them about the 5 fold ministry. He instructed them to bring heaven to earth in their congregations, encouraging them to look for the anointing of the Apostles and Prophets. Moving on from there to the Culture of Honor Conference where 500 hungry believers gathered together from Great Britain and France. There was explosive excitement and anticipation in the room!

Traveling with Danny and Sheri was a team of students from Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry. There was amazing prophetic ministry, prayer for healing and just great Holy Spirit encounters. The following is a brief excerpt from a testimony received.

"As a church we have heard a great deal about Bethel and it's ministries but this weekend I feel we saw your heart and guess what, it was the Fathers! I feel the kind of excitement that we felt back in the early 70's and when John Wimber started ministering in the 80's. Churches are joining around a common purpose in Kent- not to grow a denomination, but to grow the kingdom. Thank you for sharing your hearts with us"

On Sunday the heart melting continued as Danny spoke his message, "Who's Our Daddy?" Many people came forward in response to this message and testimony, giving them hope to pray for reconciliation in their family and to call back the ones that have walked away.

The Posture of Honor

A while back Danny spoke on the Posture of Honor.
Danny talks about becoming a vessel of honor and how to give and receive honor. What honor and dishonor looks like in a relationship. Are you able to direct your honor? What you practice at home, in your marriage that is what you practice without thinking. This is the test of your honor. Jesus said, "I need you to remember this one, Love on another!" My function is to stir up your love when I am around you, to bring out the best in you. Having a posture of honor, means "I intend to to direct my love toward you!" This can be really difficult when you are mad at someone.

The role of an Apostle

What is an apostle anyway?

Recently Danny has been answering questions in BSSM, the marketplace and the church about apostles and their role. We must have a apostle in the church before we have them in the marketplace. The apostles role is an unclear phenomenon.

"The problem is the church doesn't have apostles, so I have no idea how the other mountains are going to get one!" - Danny

The church has to rise up and validate apostles, and the other offices of heaven's government, before the rest of the mountains begin to see these offices function in their environment.
Most people think apostles are fathers of pastors and leaders, church planters that are over 55 years old.
Apostles are 100% recognizable. 100% of them have supernatural ministry flowing through their life. Jesus sent the apostles out and all of them did miracles, they were all supernatural ministers, bringing heaven into their world. The apostles, whether in church or the marketplace, are bringing heaven into the environment. So until the church has this, we won't see it in the market place. Are they bringing the supernatural into their world? The way we usually validate an apostle, is by how successful they are at building church.

"Just because you started churches doesn't make you an apostle anymore than, the person who started Starbucks... ...The apostles are validated through signs and wonders. " - Danny

The Process of Love

On Jan 10 Danny shared a message called "The Process of Love" and incredible look at how we mature our relationships into love. This is the beginning transcript of that message followed by the audio message for free. Enjoy.

"Why should anyone get married? This is a real question facing this generation, because everyone we know blew up their life, their marriage and their relationships. Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free? This is a real question for a people growing up in an internet age that are bouncing from relationship to relationship, where there is no sense of covenant and, there really are no great examples for a lot of folks to look at. This led to a conversation about a process of love, of growing and how you know if you are ready for marriage and covenant.

Paul is talking to a group of folks who are saved by love, grace and the Spirit who have been wooed back into the rules by the Jews who can't believe that the rituals and circumcision mean nothing. So there is a racial war going on. The Jews are trying to create the new-old testament. So Paul is trying to explain to the Gentiles who came into this relationship for free, that they can't keep what they got for free by obeying the law. So soon he is talking about how the law is a tutor, shaping God's people to an appointed time until faith has come.
1Now I say, as long as the heir is a child, he does not differ at all from a slave although he is owner of everything,
2but he is under guardians and managers until the date set by the father.
3So also we, while we were children, were held in bondage under the elemental things of the world.
4But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law,
5so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
6Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, "Abba! Father!"
7Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.
So there is a process by which we are groomed into a place of maturing and ultimately into a place of love."

A Lifestyle of Honor

What do we do with just a little bit of power?

We exercise freedom by serving God, not by breaking the rules. A Culture of Honor is developed by the choices we make living our everyday life. Choices to keep our promises, our word, our agreements. Who are we when no one else is watching?

1 Peter 2:17 states, 'Honor all people.' All is inclusive, it means ALL: the lady at Starbucks who gets the drink order wrong, or the person driving a bit too slowly on the freeway. Who are we when we have just a little bit of power? In Jeremiah 31:31 the Lord declares, "I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people." This is a declaration of the new covenant, an internal governing system. No longer will God's people be governed by external law but by an internal knowing of God himself. Control over other people is just an illusion; so how do we honor when we are scared, hurt, or humiliated? Do we devalue others so we can justify how we feel about them? Do we feel justified when someone fails? Or do we humble ourselves with Honor?

We raise a standard in the lives of other people through Honor, people become better people through Honor. True honor is humility for both the giver and the receiver: it builds character, integrity and relationship. The choice is up to us. We get to choose if we live a life of “Frighteousness” - righting injustice through fear, anger and false power, enforcing order through fake authority - or a life of Righteousness - righting through God's order. Proverbs 21:21 states, “He who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor.” By pursuing a lifestyle of God's internal order for our thoughts, words and actions, we create a Culture of Honor both internally and externally. Honor becomes more than just words and recognition, it becomes our every day life.

Living and Promoting a Culture of Honor

To understand honor, we must first understand the priorities of bringing Heaven to Earth. The priorities of Heaven are freedom, empowerment, and love - whereby honor being the result of our process of walking out these priorities. This process is accomplished through our earthly relationships, which require us to not only trust those around us, but also to allow them the freedom to be powerful by having influence in our lives.

Because Heaven is full of God’s presence, it is also FULL of freedom. The Apostle Paul writes, “…where the presence of God is there is freedom” (2 Corinthians 3:17). Let’s remember, we are children of the Limitless One; so how much power, love, and self-control of the Spirit are we actually demonstrating?
The Bible says to honor all peoples, which also includes honoring those who don’t necessarily “earn” or “deserve” it. We cannot allow the character defects of others to determine the way we behave. Self-control means, ‘I will never allow the way you conduct yourself to control me’. Furthermore, the character defects of others will never control the core values I uphold. It doesn’t matter if they are a child, an elder in the church, or a terrorist. Choosing a lifestyle of honor means we no longer require others to earn our love or honor – partly because we no longer withhold love or honor – but also because as honorable people motivated by love we give honor and love freely. It is a byproduct of our love relationship with our King.

In 2010 we need to ask ourselves, “What is vital for me to be me?” “Do the core values I live by line up with the priorities of Heaven?” “How can perfect love flow more powerfully in my relationships this year?” These questions will lead us toward developing a Culture of Honor in our own lives. True honor is powerful people in relationship with one another. Jesus honored us when he said, “I no longer call you servant, I call you friend,” He leveled the playing field, handed us the Earth, and said, ‘I’m going away for a while, what are you going to do about it?’ I say, Lets bring Heaven to Earth in 2010 by living and promoting a Culture of Honor.

Mother of four:

Jenny overslept this morning and missed her bus. Here’s how our conversation went:

Me: “Oh NO! What are you going to do?

Jenny: I don’t know. Could I pay you to drive me?

Me: Sure, how much are you paying?

Jenny: $5

Me: Ok. Oh and you’re going to have to wake up your brother & sister and get them ready too.

Jenny: Ok
Then she proceeds to get her brother up. She had to go get his clothes for him too. The younger one, Hailey…is a tough one. Kenzie ended up offering to pay her $1 and do her chores for the day. The offer of payment worked and she finally got Hailey to get up and get dressed after about 20 minutes! It was really kind of funny. All went well and Kenzie was late to school…but there was no yelling or tantrum throwing! I LOVE this!!!
Mother of Three:
That's awesome!!! Isn't this so freeing when they're learning how to solve their own problems and she already knows the language and how it works!!! Well done!!! I agree Loving on Purpose had radically changed our lives and our children too. We've read tons of books, done Growing Kids Gods Way, gone to parenting seminars and classes, tried lots of different things and I can honestly say not one of those has grabbed my husband's and my heart like Loving on Purpose has!! We are forever changed. Among the Holy Conviction of tears and laughter arises Biblical truth and tangible practical ways that we as parents can stop passing on the Sins of our Fathers and once again have heart connections with our kids and peace in our homes.

Tho, I'm still learning. My son asked for help today at 7:55 a.m. in finding the only pair of pants he wanted to wear to school. My progress is that I didn't get mad and yell, instead I told him what I was going to do.

Me: "Are you asking for my help?"
Sy: "Yes!!"
Me: "I'll look for a little bit, but this is your problem, and we're still leaving at 8:00 a.m. whether or not we find those pants you wanted wear."
Sy: OK, just help me!!
8:00 a.m. No pants. Car is leaving, the world didn't end, and I'm not running around yelling that "We don't have time for this!!" I'm just calmly driving out of the driveway to school.
I still need to work on not lecturing, making sure my words aren't pennies and letting the consequences be his master teacher.
Father of Five:

Thanks for adding some great new tools to our parenting toolbox. We are finding the Fun/Room tactic to work quite well with the young ones. John – almost 2 – picked up on this right away and is doing great with it; Sam – almost 4 – does not like it much, but is definitely coming around. Giving choices to the older boys is beginning to become more of a habit for me (and my wife too) and I think the boys are starting to ‘engage their brains’ and are figuring things out for themselves instead of just waiting for us to step in. But, I think the biggest change I am seeing is in me. I am focusing more on our relationships and simply (or not so simply) controlling just myself, and leaving the control of others to themselves.

THANK YOU! Thanks so much for bringing us together on this. I had read the book, but my husband had never been able to finish it with all that we have going on. This made it almost impossible to implement, as we needed to be on the same page. Doing the class in 6 weeks made it seem "doable", we might have said no to 8 or 12 weeks. This gave us the opportunity to learn the same thing at the same time and really experience it together as parents.

I have noticed the biggest change in Tim and I. I remember Tim being just floored when Danny Silk taught that parenting was not about getting compliance or obedience. That is how we have been parenting for 12 years. What a shift in thinking! What I realized about me is that I was doing WAY TOO MUCH for them and not letting them learn how to problem solve or take responsibility for their mistakes.

With one of our boys in particular, I had already realized that when he yelled "You can't make me!" he was right. I couldn't make him. What Loving on Purpose gave me is the tools to help both my darling son and I figure out what to do next.

While it is hard to watch our kids make poor choices (especially school ones), I think our home is becoming more peaceful. Less yelling. It is also fun to see them learn skills that will help them become amazing adults!

Who's our Daddy?

Jesus put it simply when he said, "If you've seen me, then you've seen my Father." We cannot hide what we believe to be true about love, authority, discipline, offense, and so many other of life's lessons anchored in the memories and experiences with our earthly fathers. " . . . and I will put enmity between you and the woman." Genesis 3:15. There is a strategy, an evil plan, to keep women disempowered for as long as possible. All the Devil needs for his scheme to work is the assistance of man. But, once Christian men realize that the women are fully redeemed, fully powerful and complete partners with males in Christ, the curse will be broken and women will have an opportunity to live as 'new creatures' on this earth.

Jesus brought redemption and reconciliation full circle when He poured out His Spirit on ALL flesh on the day of Pentecost. The Bible is clearly pointing out the heart of our Father in Acts 2:4 " . . . and they were ALL filled with the Holy Spirit . . ." It was and very much still is the destiny of EVERY Believer to find the place of restoration that Adam and Eve knew before the fall. The Apostle Paul placed everyone on an even playing field when he tells the Galatians (3:28) "There is neither Greek nor Jew, slave nor free, male nor female for we are ALL one in Christ."

This series will strengthen your resolve to find this place of living powerfully in the Church and the Kingdom. Danny Silk, I've been taking your 'Posture of Honor' very seriously, and I have been applying it to my life and I just wanted to let you know how God has blessed my socks, and my church's socks off. Your sermon has been ringing in my mind for a while now, I've listened to it a few times and Honoring others is also being bold enough to do what is right but hard, for someone else, yes?

Well here we go:
something amazing that happened yesterday.

In my church in Binghamton NY we have never seen miracles or fully come and surrendered to the Holy Spirit. Although our family has been longing and praying for everything that is happening in Bethel to happen here.

Last night I played, "Healer" from Here is Love while we were in the old dually shared church we are in (old catholic style build). I explained the out break that Bethel is having, and the 'healing rooms' miracles. They loved it.

Low and behold God came and whapped us.

Next thing you know we were all shouting praises to the Lord, louder and more free than I've ever seen a methodist do, for an hour- no will to stop! Praising God, we declared Him our healer, our all, everything, more than enough. We just had freedom, freedom to worship him the way we were made to worship him- without any embarrassment or holding back. Without caring that we were in the middle of decorating for a wedding that was the next day.
Shouting in praise I decided personally that I no longer could hold back tongues or words, God just said, "Go!"... and God blessed me after that, with hearing that four others in the group had the gifts too. There was a word given also. Oh God is good!
Revival, we claim revival!
What perfect timing He has!

And my hand was healed from the shocking pain that was disabling me from even opening something simple like a bag of chips. You don't realize how much you need BOTH your hands until one is complete done with. But now I have it back. :)
Praise the Lord.
